Simple as that may be.It's very short, and not hard. The gameplay is fairly intuitive. The game can be glitchy at times, for example I once fell through the floor but didn't die. Luckily the chapters are short and it saves inbetween so little time is lost.Overall I think it's a good example of atmosphere usage. It's not expensive so overall you get your worth. The VHS like video effect and fitting creepy music make the atmosphere really unsettling, in a good way for a horror title. Each little chapter is different with a tiny puzzle you need to figure out to advance. Nothing too difficult, plus the game has nice checkpoints in case you fail.If you like to feel uneasy and a bit scared for about an hour, get this game when it's on sale.. The Tape is a psychologic horror game in a first person view what a bit can remembering a walking simulator. This game mostly based at creepy atmosphere, all game style follow this. The darkness, footage style with even more creepy mode, strange and weird objects. The story in a game enough simple, but how i said the atmosphere well compensate that, especially if you use a "heavy" camera mode, its can be very creepy. The game graphic not the best, but this you can miss because in a shadow you mostly don´t see a lot detail. The sounds are okey, well fit to game atmosphere. So my verdict +creepy atmosphere+interesting camera mode+steam achievements -a bit buggy-no trading cards This game a very specific i think, because not all people like a horror games, especially a psychologic horror games like this, mostly people like games with more action. Well, this game do really creepy atmosphere, so if you are big horror fan you will should try it even though this game have a little problems too.. Good game :). The developers of this game think that when you open a door - it opens towards you - instead of away. In turn when the door opens towards you, it ensnares you, forcing you to restart. As the first part of the game is a 'stealth' action sequence the lack of sprint becomes frustrating fast. In fact there is very little interaction of any sort - I found no documents or story elements, and you can't interact with anything as the game takes care of that for you. Not even joking here. So you basically just hold down 'W' and move your mouse around to progress through the game.Finally on the level with the lake, the slow grind and repeated deaths broke my will to play any further. For the positives you can at least turn off the VHS tape effect, and the audio is pretty decent, but that's about it.. Here is a video of my gameplay. The premise may seem scary but the horror dissappears about halfway into the game whenthe game then changes to a task with no clear objective anymore. I recommend to the developer if he or she is reading this to fix some bugs. overall i say the game is a 5/10 because like i said there is something there it just needs to be polished. Not a bad game, The game will be beaten in less than ( unless you get killed ) its creepy and if you can get it %50 off and looking for something to do for an hour give this game a try.iits not the next silent hill 2 by any means but it does get the creepy job done
